What’s behind the acronym GISEP?
It’s an organisation that seeks to promote the relations between two countries in the field of startups. GISEP. Do you know which countries it acts in?
Here’s the answer: GISEP is the acronym for German Israeli Startup Exchange Program (see the official website here). It is an initiative of the German Startups Association (Bundesverband Deutsche Startups) supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy based on a decision by Germany’s federal parliament, the Bundestag. GISEP is about promoting the relations between the two countries’ startup sectors across industries, whether B2B or B2C.
We at Ströer Mobile Performance joined GISEP in 2018 based on the great work of the organisation and our own strong and growing connections with Israel. Late in 2018, our Head of Sales, David McTaminey, joined the ranks of GISEP Ambassadors (see story). The ambassadors and mentors constitute an expert network accessible to startups in both countries to connect the right people. The network is impressive, with Germany’s former Misister for Economic Affairs and Energy Brigitte Zypries, Axel Springer Digital Ventures COO Philip Raidt, Mindspace Founding Partner Yotam Alroy and the Center for Digital Innovation’s Co-Founder Boaz Gur-Lavie. Of course, this is just a tiny excerpt of the great network.
